Windows 7 SP1 Siap Hadir 22 Februari

JAKARTA, JUMAT – Ada pengumuman dari Microsoft tentang Windows 7-nya. Service Pack 1 (SP1) dari sistem operasi tersebut sudah memasuki tahap RTM (release to manufacturing).

Ini berarti para pengguna akan melihatnya hadir di Windows Update mulai 22 Februari mendatang. Namun mereka yang memiliki Windows Volume Licensing sudah bisa mencicipi Windows 7 SP1 dan Windows Server 2008 R2 pada 16 Februari.

Windows 7 SP1, kata Microsoft, bukan cuma kumpulan tambalan sekuriti. Namun tak ada penjelasan lebih lanjut tentang Windows SP1.

Microsoft justruu memamparkan dua fitur pada Windows Server 2008 R2, yakni Dynamic Memory dan RemoteFX. Kedua fitur itu berfokus pada virtualisasi server. Bedanya, RemoteFX dapat memvirtualisasikan GPU, sehingga pengguna dapat membagi ratusan inti yang ada di GPU-GPU high-end ke mesin-mesin virtual tertentu.
